Pastor Eddie Anderson understands the importance of land and food sovereignty for Black, Indigenous and People of Color as the son and grandson of farmers in Georgia. As a renter living in food apartheid neighborhoods, he has witnessed firsthand the way a lack of access to nourishing foods takes a toll on the health and vitality of our communities.  To address this, Eddie secured an unprecedented $7M investment from the State of CA for urban farming and local food economies in South Los Angeles, an initiative he calls Freedom Farms. 

Now, he is running to LA City Council to represent the multi-ethnic, primarily working class and renter majority Council District 10.

As progressive foodies and farmers who know the power of community, food and farming for the health of our communities, we are lucky to have a candidate in LA that will not only fight for worker and economic justice, affordable housing and homeless services, but also uplift food enterprises, healthy food access, farming and land stewardship.
